Oven Roasted Garlic Cabbage Steaks

Whoever said cabbage was boring?! I’m rolling in my meal planning week with one of the easiest and surprisingly flavorful dishes I have ever tried! By baking cabbage, they are really able to soak up any flavor you add to it. I re-created this recipe from Yummly and added a little nourished flair by adding spices and fresh garlic, and it not only tastes fabulous but it is so pretty!

Extra bonus: This recipe can practically be done blind folded. It is that simple.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 head of cabbage

  • 5 garlic cloves

  • olive oil

  • oregano, sea salt, pepper

METHOD

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Wash cabbage and remove outer leaf layer. Slice cabbage In 1 inch slices and lay on well greased pan. Top each layer with a few fresh garlic slices or minced garlic. Add a little ghee or avocado oil if you wish on top of cabbage. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle steaks with oregano, sea salt and pepper and put back in oven for final 20 minutes.

  • Serve with drizzled olive oil and hummus.
